Ms. Foundation on the Passing of Secretary Madeleine Albright

NEW YORK – Ms. Foundation for Women President and CEO Teresa C. Younger released the following statement in response to the passing of Secretary Madeleine Albright: 

“The Ms. Foundation for Women is deeply saddened by the loss of Madeleine Albright. As America’s top diplomat, Albright was a trailblazer for the international movement for women’s rights, championing gender equality, democracy, and advancing peace across the world.

“Albright was a pioneer of feminism. Her work as the first female secretary of state shattered gender barriers and gave women and girls the opportunity to dream bigger. She paved the way for so many of us, and her legacy will continue to empower generations of women and girls to come. 

“As a refugee herself, Albright courageously fought against dictatorships and human rights abuses. She will be remembered for her integrity and power in the face of such adversity. 

“We extend our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Madeleine Albright and are thinking about them during this time.”
