Deborah Jacobs Vice President, Advocacy and Policy
Deborah Jacobs serves as the Ms. Foundation for Women’s first-ever Vice President for Advocacy and Policy. In this role she oversees the Ms. Foundation’s strategic campaigns to address injustices and inequalities against women in economic status, health and safety.
Jacobs came to the Ms. Foundation following a 20-year career with the ACLU, including nearly 13 years as the executive director of the ACLU of New Jersey where she spearheaded numerous advocacy campaigns to promote civil liberties. Her areas of expertise include reproductive rights, LGBT rights, drug policy, police practices, racial justice, women’s rights, voting rights, privacy and government transparency.
Jacobs holds a B.A. in English Literature and an M.A. in Liberal Studies from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. In 1990, she was a Fulbright Scholar in Helsinki, Finland. Jacobs currently sits on the board of the Ernest Becker Foundation and the New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault.
