Wanda Miroslava Peguero
Wanda Miroslava Peguero (she/her) is the Grants Manager at the Ms. Foundation for Women. She is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Foundation’s grants system, grantmaking cycles, and data analysis. Most recently she served as Senior Grants Associate for the Poverty Program at The JPB Foundation. She also worked as the Grants Manager in the Gender, Sexuality and Reproductive Justice Unit with the Ford Foundation. During the early part of her career, Wanda managed an Economic Development Initiative for Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation and during her spare time taught ESL classes for immigrant women at the Dominican Women’s Development Center. For three years and on a voluntary basis, she organized a tenant association in Washington Heights to address housing-related issues and educate building residents on tenants’ rights.
Born and raised in New York City, Wanda brings over 20 years of grants management expertise in the philanthropic sector, with a strong background in compliance, operations, program budgeting, and continuous process improvements. Wanda has a BA in Political Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She is a member of PEAK Grantmaking, Trust-Based Philanthropy Project, and Technology Association of Grantmakers. During her spare time, you will find Wanda shooting B&W street photography throughout New York City and visiting art galleries and museums. Wanda currently lives in New Jersey with her twin daughters and their three fun-loving dogs.
