Sydney Schwartz joins the Ms. Foundation as the Program Associate, Safety, Health, Economic Justice. Prior to Ms., Sydney most recently served as Senior Project Manager for the Awards Management Unit for the International Rescue Committee focused on European donor rules, regulations, and compliance in Berlin, Germany. She also worked as Unit Manager for the department streamlining systems and processes for 150 staff across 4 country offices and coordinating international trainings to build capacity in the areas of partnership and compliance.
With over 12 years of experience and a background in women’s rights and economic justice, Sydney’s passion for social justice and non-profit work runs deep having worked in international development, peace and conflict resolution, humanitarian aid, and refugee aid. Sydney has also worked in refugee immigration law, taught English as a second language in Amman, Jordan, facilitated interfaith dialogues, and volunteered helping food insecure communities during COVID-19. Sydney earned her Bachelor’s degree in International Service with a minor in Arab Studies from American University in Washington, DC and a Master’s degree in Law: Dispute and Conflict Resolution from University of London: SOAS. In her free time, she continues her study of the Arabic language, cooks and bakes for her family and friends, and as a certified Cicerone, loves exploring new breweries in new cities.
