Melanie Jiménez (she/her) is deeply rooted in community, drawing from her South Central LA background. She brings over seven years of grantmaking and capacity building experience to the Program Officer role at the Ms. Foundation for Women. Most recently, Melanie served as a Senior Associate at Arbor Rising, an NYC-based grantmaking organization that provides funding and capacity strengthening support to a portfolio of grantees focused on building pathways out of poverty. Before moving to New York, she partnered with organizations at the San Francisco Foundation where she became the Program lead for the Foundation’s Program-Related Investments and oversaw multiple grantmaking portfolios focused on anti-displacement efforts and community wealth building through collective ownership over land, housing, and businesses.
Melanie holds a Master of Science in Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in both History and English from the University of California, Berkeley.
