Heather Arnet is the CEO of the Women and Girls Foundation of Southwest Pennsylvania (WGF), a nonprofit organization based in Pittsburgh, PA with a mission to achieve increased gender equity through strategic investments in public policy initiatives. Arnet is a tireless advocate for women and girls rights locally, nationally and internationally. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Ms. Foundation for Women, and Advisory Boards of WQED Multimedia, the Forbes Funds, and Women for a Healthy Environment.
Arnet is a former Board Member of the Pittsburgh Public Schools, Pennsylvania Campaign Fund for Women, and Grantmakers of Western PA. At WGF, Arnet spearheads efforts to decrease the gender wage gap and increase women’s representation on public and corporate boards. She is an Op-Ed contributor and On-Air commentator to local and national media regarding women, girls, and the economy, She led WGF’s successful “Girlcott” of Abercrombie and Fitch appearing on NBC’s Today Show, CNN, Fox News, BBC, and MSNBC.
A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Arnet has been identified as one of Pittsburgh’s “Top 40 under 40” by Pittsburgh Magazine, as a “Top Woman in Business” by Pittsburgh Business Times, as a “Top Twelve Noteworthy Business Leader” by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and received the Diamond Award, for “Outstanding CEO Leadership” by the Pittsburgh Business Times. In addition to her work in philanthropy, Arnet writes and directs feminist theatre.
