Ms. Foundation Slams DOJ for War on LGBTQ Community
NEW YORK, NY- In response to the Department of Justice’s filing in a NY legal case late Wednesday night seeking to end employment protections for LGBTQ people, just one day after the President barred transgender people from the military, Ms. Foundation President, and CEO Teresa C. Younger issued the following statement:
“Yesterday’s actions by the Justice Department cannot be weighed in isolation from Donald Trump’s actions on the same day to rescind the rights of the transgender community.
It is clear that the Trump Administration is waging an alarming and divisive war against the LGBTQ community.
Only six months into this Administration and they are already actively working to dismantle and discredit the rights and protections of LGBTQ people to work and serve in the military, banning religious minorities from travel to the US, and constantly attacking our free press. The foundations of our democracy are under attack. Now more than ever we must refuse to be divided — we must band together to fight for ALL people.”
Note to press: Ms. Foundation spokespeople are available for interviews on Trump’s war on the LGBTQ community by phone or in-person from NYC. To schedule, please contact Inarú Melendez at (413) 331-9530 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
