WHAT: The Ms. Foundation for Women will host its Third Annual Ms. on Martha’s Vineyard reception on Sunday, August 14. The summer soiree, held at a private home in Edgartown, will feature cocktails and conversation the Ms. Foundation’s critical investment in programs to improve women’s lives and communities.
Since its founding in 1973, the Ms. Foundation has made more than 1,500 grants totaling more than $65 million. With its focus on economic justice, health, and safety through a race and gender lens, the foundation works to bring attention to the challenges facing women, especially women of color and low-income women.
Speakers will include Susan Dickler, chair of the Ms. Foundation Board of Directors and a Martha’s Vineyard Resident; Bithiah Carter, President of New England Blacks in Philanthropy; and Teresa C. Younger, President and CEO of the Ms. Foundation.
