Statement of Ms. Foundation for Women President and CEO Teresa C. Younger on NFL’s new Personal Conduct Policy

NEW YORK, NY – Ms. Foundation President and CEO Teresa C. Younger issued the following statement in response to the NFL’s new Personal Conduct Policy:

“The NFL’s new Personal Conduct Policy is a good first step to address the problem of violence. We’re cautiously optimistic that the League and Goodell will continue to take domestic and sexual violence seriously and will take the necessary next steps by changing the culture of sexism within the NFL, its affiliated businesses and clubs.

“Coming off a bad first half, the NFL and Goodell are moving the ball forward on the culture of violence. They need to continue their march down the field before they make a touchdown to truly change the culture of sexism. These strides will present challenges and obstacles. The Ms. Foundation will continue to monitor the NFL’s actions, offer constructive criticism and hold the League accountable.”
