Elizabeth Cornejo Jinks, Major Gifts Director, West Coast
Elizabeth Cornejo Jinks has been in the nonprofit sector for over 12 years including 10 years in development and fundraising roles. Prior to joining the Ms. Foundation for Women, Elizabeth was the Associate Development Director for the American Diabetes Association in Southern California and held a national consultant role for the organization's largest strategic growth campaign. At the Association, Elizabeth acquired and stewarded major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations, supervised and consulted on special events, managed and executed the area's marketing, communications, and branding recognition strategies, and recruited and engaged high-level volunteers.
Over the course of her career, Elizabeth has gained a wide variety of experience in the sector including small, local nonprofits, lobbying and grassroots organizations, and complex and multi-faceted international and national organizations. Prior to the American Diabetes Association, Elizabeth held canvassing and citizen outreach positions with the Fund for Public Interest Research supporting organizations such as the Human Rights Campaign, Sierra Club, Save the Children and Environment California. She also interned as a college student and was later employed by the International Labour Organization in Washington, DC, providing critical labor information and research to private and public entities.
Elizabeth holds a B.A. degree in English and Government from Georgetown University and a M.A. in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from the University of San Diego.
