Laura Berssenbrugge, Research Assistant
Laura Berssenbrugge is a Research Assistant at the Ms. Foundation for Women where she supports the Development team by researching potential donors and donor institutions.
Laura has 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents as an educator, counselor and therapist. Her love of other cultures led her abroad, where she taught in a Parisian high school and conducted research about the role of subcultures in a reunified Berlin. She then spent two years teaching English in Japan through the prestigious Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme (JET), where her cross-cultural research on Japanese and French ESL programs was published in a national journal.
Laura is currently pursuing her doctorate in School-Clinical Child Psychology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. Her research interests include multiracial identity issues, multicultural counseling and Asian American mental health. A native of Hawaii, she received her bachelor's degree from New York University.
