Ms. Foundation for Women Receives Record Gift
Longtime Supporter Margaret "Meg" Jacobs Leaves Largest Bequest in Organization's History

NEW YORK--April 12, 2013--The Ms. Foundation for Women today announced that it had received a nearly $2 million bequest from Margaret "Meg" Jacobs, the largest bequest gift in the organization's 40-year history.

"The Ms. Foundation for Women is honored and inspired by Meg Jacobs' commitment to advancing women's equality," said Ms. Foundation President and CEO Anika Rahman. "It's our great privilege to continue her legacy of improving the lives of women."

The donation by Jacobs, who passed away in February 2012, is the lead gift to Gloria's Future Fund, the Ms. Foundation's planned giving society. Jacobs' bequest will support the Ms. Foundation's primary grantmaking and advocacy efforts in reproductive health and economic justice, as well as provide general operating support. A portion of the bequest will establish the Meg Jacobs' Endowed Fund for Reproductive Health.

A philanthropist and nonprofit leader, Jacobs was active in the Jacobs Family Foundation and Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation in San Diego. For more than a decade, the Jacobs Family Foundation has been an active supporter of the Ms. Foundation for Women.
