Elizabeth L. Bremner
For over two decades, Elizabeth L. Bremner (Liz) has provided leadership for new and emerging philanthropic organizations, serving as the first president of The Foundation Incubator (2001-2005), President and CEO of the Santa Fe Community Foundation (1993-2001), and founding Executive Director of the Los Angeles Women's Foundation (1986-1991).
Liz led The Foundation Incubator, which provides cutting edge services for emerging philanthropists, from the initial start-up phase through four years of growth, and spearheaded its eventual merger with the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University to create the Philanthropy Incubator and Philanthropy Incubator Silicon Valley at the Community Foundation Silicon Valley. Liz has served on the boards of Women and Philanthropy, L.A. Women's Foundation, and Northern New Mexico Grantmakers where she was President of the Board. She currently serves on the Leadership and Mentoring Team of the Hopi Foundation. Formerly she served on the L.A. Unified School District's Commission on Sex Equity, was a judge for Stanford University's BASES Social E-Challenge business plan competition for social enterprises and co-authored a book on children's gardening. Her contributions have been honored with Full Circle Fund's Full Impact Award, Women and Philanthropy's LEAD Award, Women's Funding Network's "Changing Face of Philanthropy Award" and with commendations from the State of California, County and City of Los Angeles, and the City of Santa Fe.
She earned her B.A. from the University of California, Davis, and a Masters Degree in Management at the University Redlands. She is a native to the San Francisco Bay Area, where she currently resides.
